More on art

A few weeks ago I was killing time in front of the computer, and I did a search on blogs about cello. Not much came up, perhaps 1 or 2 hits. One of them from a young cellist in Wales, UK. She entered in her blog: " Trying to have a career in music is one of the most ridiculous things a human-being can do. Nevertheless, those of us that stick with it year after year come to find ourselves on a constant roller-coaster of highs and lows, but no matter how you fare, you realise that everyone knows each other."
I entered my reply: "An artist has to find the strength to pursue his/her dreams somewhere inside the soul, rarely it appears from the immense depths of society, which is unsympathetic to artists. This is not a new question/dilemma; most geniuses of the past have asked one time or another whether their art is relevant. We must find our own ways, pursue our dreams, be tenacious, and one day it will pay off. You can certainly give up, but that means your road in that direction has ended."
What do you think?
